How my favourite film was made

Hands down my favourite film is Tarzan (the Disney version). The soundtrack is amazing. The animals are awesome. And Tarzan is a badass.

More than once at Uni, my mate Dan and I would cook omelettes for breakfast whilst listening to Son of Man by Phil Collins.

I’m pretty sure I read somewhere once that what you enjoy as a child is supposed to influence what you want to do in the future. This sounds about true: one day I want to be the sort of person that can speak to gorillas, swing on vines through the jungle like a gibbon, and not be judged for wearing  a loincloth.

I was Youtubing some Tarzan songs today (as you do), and I stumbled across a video in the suggested section that has literally blown my mind. It’s about the animators who made Tarzan, using a technique called Deep Canvasing. I don’t think it’s used much anymore, but just watch the video for a couple of seconds and you’ll see how detailed a process it is.

Enjoy,

TarGian
